SENSATIONAL ACHIEVEMENT: Our Student Dino Ahić Wins Gold Medal at the Balkan Mathematical Olympiad!

May 7, 2026

We are immensely proud and thrilled to share the news of a historic achievement by our student, Dino Ahić, who won a gold medal at this year’s Balkan Mathematical Olympiad (BMO), held in Thessaloniki, Greece!

What makes Dino’s success truly sensational is the fact that he achieved this remarkable feat as a first-grade high school student. At this prestigious competition, all participants face the exact same test regardless of their age, meaning Dino competed on equal footing and outperformed much older and more experienced mathematicians from across the region.

With this outstanding performance, Dino also played a crucial role in the overall success of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team. Winning two gold and three silver medals, the team secured an extraordinary 2nd place overall out of 11 countries—marking the best team ranking in the history of Bosnia and Herzegovina at any Olympiad.

Congratulations from the School Management: “On behalf of Richmond Park Secondary School Sarajevo, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Dino, his family, and the team leaders, Admir Beširević and Jovan Vuković. Dino, your hard work, talent, and dedication inspire us all, and we are incredibly proud to have you as a member of our school community. We wish you the best of luck in your upcoming competitions!”

We also extend our sincere congratulations to the rest of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team members for their exceptional results in Greece.
